What is STATUS?

STATUS is the premier loyalty program for customers of our brand family, including JD Sports and Finish Line. Log in to a single account that serves as your one-stop hub to earn, view, and choose your rewards. The more you shop, the more you boost your STATUS and gain access to more rewards and benefits.

If $500 is spent over the course of a year, you’ll achieve A-List STATUS, which unlocks even more benefits, including: Exclusive sneaker reservations, Raffles for the latest drops, Upgraded birthday and anniversary gifts, and Personal shopping experiences.

Who are we talking to?

This program speaks directly to loyal customers of our brand family, including JD Sports and Finish Line. Inspire them to join and earn STATUS. STATUS applies to Finish Line at Macy’s, but is never directly communicated to JD or Finish Line customers as a benefit of the program. JD and Finish Line customers are driven by different insights than Finish Line at Macy’s (premium vs deal). 

Sneakers are the biggest incentive for the Finish Line customer, but they also want current apparel trends to complete their look. STATUS offers benefits and rewards that will keep them coming back to Finish Line, while also introducing them to trend-emerging apparel and footwear from JD Sports.

The JD Sports customer seeks emerging trends, but they also appreciate the originals. They may have earned points at a JD Sports retail location from around the globe, and they want to redeem the rewards they’ve already earned. STATUS allows them to cash in points online or at any local store in our brand family.

Why become a member?

How to talk to STATUS members

Communicate the benefits of the program by recognizing the customer’s loyalty, always letting them know that they’re in control of their rewards with direct reference to the perks of earning more STATUS. The following details need to be clear, direct, and brief.

  • Make it obvious that STATUS is a combined loyalty program for customers of our brand family, including JD Sports and Finish Line. Members can earn and redeem points across brands both in-store and online.

  • Be direct and specific about the benefits of STATUS. Members have more opportunities to earn points, and they also get access to a regularly updated lineup of rewards, including access to members-only events, early reservations, and exclusive gifts. All of this is accessible in their single STATUS account.

  • Account information is extremely important. STATUS members need to know their point totals, how to earn more, and how to redeem rewards. It’s critical that this information be relative to what they can access with more points.

  • Be up front and clear about point totals. The member’s total point balance should be directly stated and easily found, along with motivation for how to use the points and gain A-List STATUS or access more exclusive rewards. When appropriate, clearly outline the added benefits of A-List, including upgraded gifts, events, personal shopping experiences, exclusive sneaker reservations, and more.

How to talk to non-members about STATUS

STATUS benefits and how to sign up must be direct, motivational, and simple. Use the benefits and rewards to inspire customers to join and realize that earning STATUS points and levels doesn’t require anything but shopping at any of the banners in our brand family: JD Sports and Finish Line
